He’s also co-author of two books on nanotechnology, a board member of Open Books, Chicago’s literacy-focused nonprofit social enterprise, and an advisory board member of Cure Violence, a global NGO pioneering the use of healthcare methods to end violence worldwide. Previously, he was the Director of Technology at Obama for America during the 2012 cycle and CTO of Sittercity.com, America’s first and largest service dedicated to finding quality child care online. A serial entrepreneur, writer, impact investor, raconteur, boulevardier and man about town, he lives in Chicago with his amazing wife Genevieve Thiers and twin sons Leo and Ari. Dan is passionate about using technology to make the world a better place by empowering everyone to make a difference.
