Water: Global. Local. Essential

Cleaning. Drinking. Drought. Flooding. Water is an essential part of life on Earth. Water makes up 60% of our bodies and 70% of our Earth’s surface. Here in the Great Lakes region, it’s easy to take it for granted. But what do we really know about this vital substance and how we should consume, manage, and conserve it?

NetImpact Chicago (NIC) will be hosting an online panel talk where we will have experts from various sectors in Chicago speak about their missions to ensure safe, equitable, and sustainable access to water globally and locally. We will learn about some sobering facts, exciting innovations, and possible career options in the world of water. There will be time for Questions & Answers as well!

Speakers include:

  • Shilpa Alva ( Executive Director, Surge for Water a global nonprofit that has provided safe water and sanitation solutions to 1 million people in 11 countries)
  • Patrick Boyle (Director of Global Sustainability, Sloan, leading manufacturer of commercial plumbing systems )
  • Josina Morita (Commissioner, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Chicago, a unit of local government)

This event will be MC’d online led by Net Impact Chicago’s own board member Ed Byrne.

Please RSVP here on Eventbrite! Access to our webinar link (platform to be determined) will be sent out the day prior to the event. No charge to attend. We look forward to seeing you all there!
